We all know them. The people who say theyre your close friend, your best friend, even your girl/boyfriend, but whenever you need them, or would like to hang out, they're nowhere to be found.
Like who are we kidding people? I KNOW you always have your phone.
I KNOW where you live! IMA COMIN TUHNYTEEEEEE.
No, but really now, its quite annoying, and at this point it's not even four people, more like 10+. So it would be one thing if you actually pick up your phone, return a call, or DON'T say your gonna swing by. No ones hurt by a little rescheduling. No ones hurt at all, but see that's not the problem. The problem is you're wasting my time. And GOD do I know how to waste yours back. Oh-HO.
But all in all, it IS up to you, and I'm not hurt, I don't care, but don't say I
didn't give you a COUPLE fair chances. But more than one was nice of me, and that's somewhat rare.
So I'll help you out, and throw this deadweight off my back, that is this waste of time.
If you want in, you gotta earn it, kid.

Pictures from shows of the past
Ludwig Epic Snare
Almost There
So this will hopefully be the final update on the money, because after this, either I will have bought the 003 or have enough to do so.
As of right now, I have 325$ in cash, a check for 128$, my dad owes me an aditional 56$, and as of today, I am owed about 240$ from park st, also, once I finish painting the basement next door, I'll have another 100$ which puts me at roughly 850$. I should be able to make 900$ by Sunday.
Currently, my only problem with my original plan, is that the website where I've been planning on buying it, is now out of stock. So I am at the will of B&H right now.
Until they get back in stock, it doesn't really matter when I get enough cash.
Maybe I'll be able to save enough for the MicroKorg by the time I have enough, which is another 400$ or a little less.
Update: I'm getting another 60$ by tommorow. 10$ for golf balls and 50$ for the old dog crate! Almost there!

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back, And Then I Trip
So about the whole money thing, I kinda ordered a snare drum. Just one drum. Just a snare. So that has now set me back 130$. Here it is... http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ludwig-Epic-Snare-Drum?sku=500577
If anyone knows how to make that link into a clickable word, like on a legit site, hit me up.
But anyway, by my math, this means I only have about 600$ right now.
I AM working either 3 1/2 or 4 days this week. So I'll make another 180 this week to recoup my losses.

Another update on the money situation
Hey hombres y putas. Today, I went all the way to Waltham. It took me like an hour on the bus from downtown crossing, it was alful. Regardless, I made 85$ in two hours, so I can't really complain TOO much. So this brings my total as of right now to....546$!!!!!
That's a little over half. I've been considering downgrading slightly on what I buy with this fat load of cash. I was planning on getting a 003 Rack+ Factory, whereas the 003 Rack (no "+") is about two hundred dollars less. I think. *Checking* The difference is actually only 146$. So I'm not sure, thats not really much of a savings. The full price for the Rack+ is 1700$ and the full price of the Rack Factory is 1300$, so by buying the more expensive one, I would save 400$, and only save 150$ by buying the cheaper one. I'll think about it, 150$ is a decent amount of money. It could go toward my future drum set or the MircoKorg.
I'll figure it out later.
Also, I just remembered (probably for the umpteenth time,) I'll be getting another 100$ from Park St on the 30th or 31st, which would bring me to essentially 650. Which would leave me to make another 350$. PLUS, (remembered this too) I've got a 15$ check coming! I'M RICH BITCH! So the leaves 335$.
Random math time.
1 day at C&G=60$ so if I can jam in 3 days next week... leaves... 335-180=...155$.
So I need to get 155$ somehow.
Still have to list the air hockey table on craigslist. Call me if you're interested! 100$ firm.
Golf balls... ehhh..
Oh actually, if I get called back about the "candy/chocolate" study next week, that will be 100. So I think I can make it. Cross your fingers.

Summer
So I'm gonna tell you guys what I'm hoping to do/have done by the end of the summer.
Starting with concerts, I've got Straylight Run on Tuesday. Taking Back Sunday, Envy on the Coast, and Anberlin on June 27. Warped Tour on July 21 (I think). After that Rancid and Rise Against on July 28. Then there's Lollapalooza and BLINK, wither August 15 or 22. Not sure yet. I'll prolly go to anything else that comes up.
As for non-concert things, I'm hoping to have my Digidesign 003 by the end of May. After that, I want to get a MicroKorg synth. Then with those, recording! I've got two mics, so those are good. I'll just need some cables. If anyone can help out, I'll love ya!

Second Album Review
So this weekI'm going with a shorter cd because the first one had too many GOOD songs.
So what I'm actually gonna talk about is a CD single I just bought.
Its for the song "Tonight, Tonight" by the Smashing Pumpkins.
7 song are on this single.
The first song, "Tonight, Tonight", is one of the bands most well known songs. A mid-tempo ballad. Its beautiful guitars, and luscious string sections, its one of Billy Corgan's best moments with this style. The lyrics are beautiful and Corgan keeps his voice in its best. His signature whiney moan is perfect contrast for the smoothness of the instruments.
The second song, Meladori Magpie, is a seemingly large departure from most of the SP cataloge. You can hear a slide guitar in the background and the acoustic guitar is twangy like a country song. Although very different, this song is worth listening to. And Billy's voice kind of fits this song suprisingly.
Rotten Apples, the third track, is a melancholy example of solo Corgan. One this song, the synth strings are higher in the mix than the guitar. There is no bass or drums. Although not an impressive song, it does have its own merit and it is somewhat entrancing.
Jupiter's Lament is fairily short at only 2m 32sec. Again, this is seemingly just Billy and an acoustic guitar. Its slow tempo gives the listener a better idea of his feelings. He knows his woman is gone, "oh yes I know." It really is a lament.
Medellia of the Gray Skies is very easily one of the best songs on this EP. There's a beautiful guitar line, Billy's vocals sound so distant, but sound perfect for the song. I can't really say much about this song, but if you listen to it, you will understand what I mean.
Blank is the 6th track on the EP/single. Another slow song, its also relatively short, or just feels so. Its pretty basic, but distincive. Billy doesnt make bad songs!
The last song, Tonight Reprised, is actually a re-do of Tonight, Tonight. However, this is stripped down. Like and "unlugged" version, if you will. This is also much slower, which allows the true feel of the song to be exposed. This is, in my opinion, how Tonight, Tonight should have been. Beautiful and simple, Tonight Reprised is a great way to end this EP.

Money Update
So today, I sold an old stationary bike that's been in my basement for years.
Got 80$ from it. This makes my current total 325$. That is not counting the 300$ I will get from my parents when I reach the 1k$ mark. So essentially, I have 625$, which is almost half. I'll get more this weekend. Another 60$ or 120$ from workin with Pops, and hopefully a hundred from Park St. So that would at least bring me to 745$, or on the high end, 845$. Hopefully, the second. I think I've got another idea if anyone can help out, but I'll have to investigate first.
More later.
Edit: Just realized my dad owes me 30$ and i have a check for fifteen dollars. The actual current total is 370$.

More Plans
So I was looking around online to look for places to submit demos and such.
One of the first places I looked was Decay Dance. (Also the only one I've actually looked at...)
As you may know, it was started by Mr. Pete Wentz. Apparently, the offices are in NYC. So maybe I can get an internship in the spring which would be badass.

Update on the money.
So first of all, Google sucks ass.
Second, I just wanted to let anyone who might care slightly, as of tommorow around 2pm, I will have 295$. So the means just 705$ left! I'm hoping that someone will see the rest of my stuff on craigslist.com and come buy it! 100$ for the bike, and probably 100$ for the air hockey table. So that would be half if those sell too! Then, if memory serves, I'll have another hundred dollars from Park St on the 15th, and another 100 on the last day of the month. So toe buy it by the end of May, I'll need to make and extra 300$ in the next three weeks. That should be easy. Ill have the last two weeks entirely free since classes will be done, so that should make it easier to get the money then. Also, once I order the 003, I will immediately start saving for the MicroKorg or Micron, but those are the same price (within two dollars.)
I'll put up another update as soon as I feel like it.

My Muse
So, right now, as I listen to Knights of Cydonia, I feel like i have this great idea for a music video.
So we're going to go by the LIVE version off HAARP. So while they start, we open on a sparce moon. In space, as it goes on, we zoom out on to a whole solar system, then when Matt does his second ad lib vocal things, we go back in, and tyhe planet explodes. As the hymn breaks forth, we follow specs of the planet along the rings of planets and galaxies. Rings of light FLASH in different colors, and the clouds churn. We move to chunks of the planet smashing in to others as ateroids, leaving destruction in their wake. Again, we see Matt's face and loom out onto the band. We go over the band, as we near the end of the song we seen the band on multiple planets, all ow them about to explode as well. Then Matt bids farewell and BANG.
This will be deleted by 5/7 15:00.

Duh DUh Duh Duh DUH
So on Tuesday night I was able to see the new Star Trek movie.
It was one of the few movies in recent memory that has actually impressed me.
The special effects were below par. (In the golf sense. Which means good, for you retards.)
The acting was rarely, if ever, cheesy. Although, at first I thought the casting wasn't very good, I was proved wrong. All of the actors were picked very well. The plot was not too simple, yet not engulfed with ancient Star Trek references. For anyone who has watched the old series, there are many subtle quotes and references. The movie came in at about 2 hours, a little longer with all of the credits. There were 2 or 3 scenes with deep space encounters. These scenes, while not as grand as those in Star Wars, were very well done, and exciting. The camera gives the viewer a sense of feeling you cannot get while watching a fleet of Rebel starships in SW.
The Enterprise is shown as a state of the art ship, which it always was in the show.
As for the plot details, I won't go into those, although there are enough plot twists that you stay interested without getting lost in the midst.
Overall, I would give the movie a rating of 8 out of 10.

Time for Jon Math
Here is my plan for reaching 1300$ by the end of May.
300$ from the parents. First time they'll give me more than ten dollars.
200+ dollars from Park St.
150$ from selling things on Craigslist.com. I've got a stationary bike, Air Hockey table, large dog crate, and a the legos sold for 70$
100+ from this blog. Keep it up! Stay interested.
Then I would need 550$ more.
I've 100$ currently. So that brings it down to 440$. So I would need to work only 7 days with my fajah at 60$ a day. Which leaves 20$ to find somewhere else, or just work more which I will probably do anyways because I need money.
So, all I need to do is sell more stuff, work, and get more people to read this stuff.
Also, last night I ordered a little usb mixer. It was only 50$ so I was like, "Why the hell not?"
NB. Legos sold aready. So thats minus 70$ from the end total.
Update. Lady bought my old Bionicles too. So thats 110 of the total. Only 1090 to go.

The Current Season
I'm not sure if this is just me, but the current season of 24 is just plain boring. Half of it is just blah, blah, blah. Then there's the occasional suprise. But all in all, its not very exciting or well written. I'm just disappointed with the show. It used to be so good. Now, its just an evening drama.

Friday.
Also, Friday was an epic fail.
No concert. I was out 32 dollars, and barely made it on the train. I had 52 cents in my pocket after I got on. So yeah, it was a good day.

Billy
So, I was looking through some pictures. And I started to laugh, because, well, has it ever happened to you, that someone tells you something. they say they'll never do it. You really want them to. Not sex or something like that, more..I dont want to say memorable, but more sentimental. And then maybe a year later, maybe ten, you see that they've done it, without you.
It doesn't make me feel bad, I don't know about you. But it's just...funny. It's funny how people change, or how they don't.
So all of this to say, I think I can see why Billy Corgan IS the Smashing Pumpkins. He doesn't care what people say, what people do, or what they listen to. If you listen, awesome. If you don't, fuck it. He doesn't care. He doesn't ACTUALLY know. So that's kind of how I feel now. I don't care if you wanna hang out, if you want to talk on the phone. I don't give a damn. Just don't waste my time.
You already took 8 months. And I don't regret it, but it could've been less.
So if you listen or read, I don't care. Just don't come to me and tell me I've changed, that I'm the one with the problem. It's only a problem if I say so. Otherwise, it's YOUR problem.
And if you have a problem, don't come running to me! Not that you would.

Last night's show
So the show last night was... badass. The first band, Fireworks, was from Detroit. They were pretty good for a band that got on the list last minute, and off, and back on. I dont know the names of any of their songs, but they would be worth checking out if you're into most pop punk bands.
After them was Set Your Goals. They were great. I had only head the song on the '08 Warped comp, This Song is Definately Not About You, but they were really good. I did'nt know they have two singers. I assumed one would play another instument and sing. But having two singers lets the move around alot more, and be more energetic. So all in all, they were very good.
Then was the band I was most looking forward to, Bayside. First of all, before the show, while waiting for some friends, I ran into Jack O'Shea. Got a chance to talk to him again and ask him about checkin out a cd when it's all done. So that was really cool. But for their set, it was amazing. I was right in the front (and for SYG too). But I caught a pick from Anthony, and got the set list at the end. (Thanks to the crowd-surfer-catcher guy.) So their set is as follows; Shitty, Boy, Walking Wounded, Unicorns, then Anthony started playing a New Found Glory song, but stopped. What a tease. After Unicorns came Carry On, then Roshambo, Masterpiece, Duality Montauk, Blame, and the last song, where everyone went insane, Devotion and Desire.
So all in all, they were amazing. I was slightly disapointed they didnt play I and I, but oh well.
Last up was NFG, I had seen them before with Senses Fail on halloween. For their set, we moved up to the balcony cuz my arm hurt and I was tired of being humped by the guy behind me. So while we were up there, I ran into the bassist for The Appreciation Post (check them out). After that, ran into Anthony up by the merch, got my new Bayside hat signed by him and he said he would also be down to check out the cd when it's done.
I don't really know many songs by New Found Glory, but they were good. And their bassist was just funny to look at. He's a fat guy anyway, but he had no shirt on, and looked like he had sharpie on his chest, but it might have been tats. I don't know.
For 19$ I can't complain. I've got the AP tour tonight. Its the last day so I'm hoping they go all out. I'll put up a rundown of that later tonight.
